Emotional Self-Care at the Solar Plexus
A 5-Week Kundalini Yoga Series with Susanne Werblow
April 21 – May 20, 2026
Traditional yogic systems describe seven chakras, yet the dynamic bridge between the lower and upper chakras — the solar plexus — is often overlooked. While commonly grouped with the navel center, the solar plexus carries a distinctly different quality of energy.
As beautifully described by Guru Ratana in her book Your Life Is in Your Chakras:
“Navel energy is one-pointed, defined, fiery. Solar plexus energy is deep, amorphous, watery and emotional. Our solar plexus is either a blockage or a gateway to our heart.”
The solar plexus, located between the navel and the heart, is intimately connected to our emotional body. It stores old stories, childhood imprints, unprocessed anger, grief, and vulnerability. When balanced and open, it becomes a powerful gateway to compassion, authenticity, and heart-centered living.
Why Kundalini at SWI?
Within SWI, all practices are offered through a somatic and capacity-building lens. Kundalini Yoga, when taught with care and attunement, is a powerful way to:
Build resilience in the autonomic nervous system
Strengthen the body’s ability to move between activation and rest
Cultivate a felt sense of internal steadiness and coherence
Rather than bypassing the body, this work brings you into it—supporting regulation, integration, and embodied awareness.

Who This is For:
About Susanne Werblow:
Susanne Werblow is a certified Kundalini Yoga teacher who brings a grounded, trauma-aware, and body-centered approach to healing and self-regulation. Her path to yoga began in 2006 through recovery from chronic back pain, an experience that reshaped her relationship with her body and revealed the power of movement, breath, and awareness to restore balance from within.
Through years of personal practice and teaching, Susanne has seen how Kundalini Yoga supports the nervous system’s natural capacity to regulate, respond, and return to equilibrium. Her classes emphasize breathwork, rhythmic movement, and meditation as practical tools for meeting stress without overwhelm, cultivating clarity, resilience, and embodied steadiness.
Trained at Spirit Rising Yoga in Chicago, Susanne has been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 2013. She is passionate about helping students build sustainable practices that extend beyond the mat and into daily life. Her teaching style is thoughtful, accessible, and attuned to creating a safe, supportive environment where students can reconnect with their innate capacity for balance and vitality.
